On March 4, 2014, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation presided over and presented the awards to the winner and the participants at the Thai Cooking Competition.
The competition was organized by the Office of Commercial Affairs of Thailand in Moscow with the cooperation of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, Moscow Culinary Association, College of Technology No. 28 and Team Thailand in Moscow and participated by 7 professional chefs from the leading restaurants in Moscow.
The Thai Ambassador reiterated the policy of the Royal Thai Government to promote Thailand as the Kitchen of the World. With the worldwide recognition of Thai cuisine and its international popularity, he also hoped that this competition would help bring about the better knowledge of the authenticity for the cooking of Thai food including how to select and use the Thai food products and ingredients.
Besides the representative from the Moscow Culinary Association, Mrs. Nitaya Jessadachatr, Minister, Mrs. Kalayanee Sirikul, Minister (commercial affairs) and Mr. Manan Boonyachai, General Manager of the Office of Thai Airways International in Russia also took part as the members of the judge committee which was chaired by the representative of the Suan Dusit Rajabhat University.
