On 8 February 2015, Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Consul-General presided over the opening ceremony of/ and participated in ASEAN Table Tennis Friendly Tournament 2015 at Nanyue Table Tennis Training Center, Ersha Island, Guangzhou. The event was organized by the Consulates of ASEAN countries in Guangzhou. There were 30 table tennis players from 7 participating countries, including Thailand Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, and Laos. Those players are representatives from ASEAN Consulates and various communities.

                 

            Thai team consists of 6 players who are representatives from Team Thailand in Guangzhou, Thai business and student communities. 

 

            Within friendly atmosphere, the competitions among players were breathtaking and the scores were so close. Thai female team led by CG Srimaitreephithak won the first place for Female Category followed by Indonesian (2nd place) and Cambodia (3rd place). For Male Category, Indonesia won the first place followed by Cambodia (2nd place) and Singapore (3rd place).

 

            This ASEAN Table Tennis Friendly Tournament is one in the series of activities which aim to strengthen cordial relationship among ASEAN countries’ community members.
