Regarding the news of the killing of Mr. Haruna Yukawa, one of the two Japanese hostages captured by ISIS militants, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and General Thanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs have conveyed the messages of condolences as follows:

Message of Condolences from the Prime Minister to the Prime Minister of Japan

Dear Prime Minister,
       I was deeply shocked upon learning the news of the most horrible and inhumane killing of
Mr. Haruna Yukawa by the ISIS militants. I join Your Excellency and the Japanese people in condemning such barbaric act of terrorism. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Yukawa’s family and the Japanese Government during these most difficult hours. I pray that the remaining hostage, Mr. Kenji Goto, will be released and returned to his family unharmed the soonest.

Excellency,
       I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Haruna Yukawa. Thailand condemns in the strongest possible terms such act of senseless barbarism against innocent victims.
       My thoughts and prayers are for the immediate safe return of Mr. Kenji Goto.
