On 3 December 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Santiago, Republic of Chile hosted a reception to cerebrate the 87th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand at the Ambassador's Residence. Among 300 participated guests were Ambassadors and members of Diplomatic and Consular corps, high dignitaries from Chilean Government, private sector, media, Thai community in Chile, Thai and Chilean exchange students as well as their host families and Friends of Thailand in Chile.

  

            H.E. Mr. Surapon Petch-vra, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Chile delivered a speech to pay tribute to H.M. the King and to His life-long dedications to the development of the national and the well-being of all Thais throughout 68 years under His Reign. In his speech, H.E. the Ambassador also touched on the current political situation in Thailand  as well as the development of bilateral relations between Thailand and Chile.

 

            At 21.00 hrs., H.E. the Ambassador led the Thai Community in Chile as well as foreign guests to wish His Majesty good health, longevity and happiness with a candle-lighting.

 

            Activities organized during this ceremony included the exhibitions of H.M. the King’s biography, works and achievements and Thailand’s tourist attractions and culture.
