On 21-24 November 2014, the Foo Clan Association of Malaysia and the Foo Clan Association of Kelantan hosted the 17th Foo Clan World Convention at Grand Riverview Hotel, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The event was attended by members of the Foo Clan from 10 countries including Thailand, led by Mr.Manapol Poosomboon, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries. The Royal Thai Consulate-General facilitated the Thai delegation in attending the event and Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon, together with Consul Pongsak Thepruangchai, participated at the activities organized by the Foo Clan Associations. The event also received support from the government of Kelantan where YAB Dato’ Haji Ahmad Bin Yakob, Chief Minister of Kelantan and YB Dato’ Haji Md. Anizam Bin Ab. Rahman, Culture, Tourism and Heritage Committee Chairman attended the event. 

 

            The Foo Clan World Convention is held every 2 years where the Foo Clan Associations of different countries take turns in hosting the event. The world convention has been held in Malaysia 3 times at 3 different states which are Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kelantan respectively.
