Ms. Areewan Haorangsi, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Information and Communication Technology, was elected to the post of the Secretary General of the APT for the term 2015-2018 at the 13th Session of the General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) held in Yangon, Myanmar on 26 November 2014.

The Secretary General, the Head of the APT Secretariat manages the activities of the APT Secretariat. The Secretary General also liaises with international organizations, local authorities, and APT members. APT secretariat office is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The Thai delegation to the 13th Session of the General Assembly of the APT consists of Vice Minister of Information and Communication Technology as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, Telecom of Thailand (TOT) Public Company Limited, and CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, who have worked closely in campaigning for the election.
