The Deputy Foreign Minister Attends the Cultural Performance to Celebrate 25 Years of Thai-Bhutan Relations

On 15 November 2014, the Cultural Performance to Celebrate 25 Years of Thai-Bhutan Relations was held at the Royal Institute of Management in Thimphu, Bhutan.

On this occassion, Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Foreign Minister, gave the opening speech, highlighting the similarities of both Kingdoms, in particular the King's Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy and Bhutan's concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH). The Deputy Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of cultural and people-to-people exchange in fostering closer relations between Thailand and Bhutan.

The event was also attended by Princess Shimi Yangsom Wangchuk, sister to the King of Bhutan, Ms. Madhurapojana Ittarong, Ambassador of Thailand to Bhutan (with residence in Dhaka), Mr. Manopchai Wongphakdi, Director-General of the Department of South Asia, Middle East, and African Affairs and Mr. Dasho Ugyuen Sechub Dorji, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand to Thimphu.
