On 6 November 2014, Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon, together with officers of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, attended the opening ceremony of the Loy Krathong 2014 Festival at Phikulthong Vararam Temple, Tumpat, Kelantan. Encik Mohd Aidil Afizie bin Daud, Director of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Kelantan Office also attended the event which attracted a large audience of Siamese and other Malaysian Buddhists as well as local Muslims. This year marks the 11th year that the annual festival is held in Kelantan and is co-sponsored by the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Malaysia's Tourism Ministry with objective of preserving Thailand's cultural heritage in the Siamese community of Kelantan.
