Royal Kathina Robe Ceremony in the Czech Republic

On 1 November 2014, H.E. Mr. VitavasSrivihok, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic presided over the Offering Ceremony of the Royal Kathina Robe, graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King through the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the monk at the Tiger Temple in Tyn, the Czech Republic. The Ceremony is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic and was harmoniously attended by Mrs. NateeChuansanit, the President of the Buddhist Theravada Association of the European Region in the Czech Republic, members of the Association, Embassy’s staffs, Thai Buddhists in the Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland, as well as the Mayor of Tyn City.
The Tiger Templein Tyn, the Czech Republic, was established in 2014 by the Tiger Temple in Karnchanaburi, Thailand.
The Offering Ceremony of the Royal Kathina Rope is hoped to serve as a paying tribute to the glory of His Majesty King BhumibolAdulyadej’s devotion in Buddhism and as a socio-religious event to enhance the friendship between Thailand and the Czech Republic.
