            During 26-29 September 2014 His Excellency Lt.Cdr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation led a delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow to Kursk, the city in the south, approximately 500 kilometers from Moscow, to discuss the promotion of the medical education between Thailand and Kursk with Mr. Victor Lazarenko, Rector of the Kursk State Medical University (KSMU). KSMU is recognized as one of the leading Russian medical institutes. In this occasion His Excellency the Ambassador of Thailand and his delegation also visited the university’s classes and also the operation of the governmental oncology hospital.
 
           The Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow also took this opportunity to organize a consular session for the Association of the Thai students in Kursk. The Association was established by the Thai medical students in Kursk. About 45 Thai students are currently studying at KSMU. this number is approximately 1/3 of total Thai students, currently studying in Russia. Almost half of them are Thai-Muslim students from the South of Thailand.
