On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Malta’s Independence on 21 September 2014, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister, and General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent messages of congratulations as follows:

1. Message of Congratulations from the Prime Minister to Mr. Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta

“Excellency,
                        On the momentous occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Malta’s Independence, I would like to express, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, our sincere congratulations and best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Republic of Malta and her people.
                         I would also like to take this opportunity to express to Your Excellency my heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and facilitations accorded to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during HRH visit to Malta in August of this year which reflects the close ties of friendship between our two countries. My Government and I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further develop our relations for the benefit and prosperity of our two countries and peoples.

2. Message of Congratulations from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to Mr. George Vella,  Joseph Muscat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta.

                         I have the honour and pleasure to extend to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Malta our felicitations and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Malta’s 50th Independence Day.
                         I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further develop the existing bilateral ties, as well as promote closer cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels, for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples.
