On 26 August 2014, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Paulo Bernardo Silva, Minister of Communications of Brazil.

During the meeting, Ambassador of Thailand exchanged views with the Minister on the promotion of bilateral relations including exchanges of high-level visits between the Ministry of Communications of Brazil and Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of Thailand in order to share more technical cooperation and best practices between the two countries.

Ambassador Chanbhumidol and the Minister also discussed about information technology and internet usage of peoples in Asia and South America which have steadily increased throughout the past decade. The widespread of internet usage among peoples would give better understanding and knowledge and could help increase people-to-people contact and tourism between the two regions.

In addition, Ambassador Chanbhumidol informed the Minister about development and progress of Thailand’s political situation in that it has progressively moved into the 2nd phase of the 3-stage Roadmap. The provisional constitution of Thailand has been promulgated and the National Legislative Assembly has already been established.    The new Prime Minister has already been in charge. The National Reform Council would be established and the drafting of new constitution would be finalized in July 2015, respectively. A free and fair election is expected to be held by October 2015.
