Thailand strongly condemns brutal acts of violence committed by the Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq against innocent civilians, particularly the tragic murder of an American journalist, James Foley.
Thailand deplores those engaged in such indiscriminate acts of violence in the name of religion and urges the international community to take concerted efforts to prevent further violence and address the rapidly deteriorating situation in Syria and Iraq.
Thailand fully supports the UN Security Council Resolution 2170 (2014), which calls on the international community to prevent terrorist groups and their supporters from posing any threats to international peace and security.
