The Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow promoted Thai food via the Russian TV Channel

           On 18 July 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow brought Thai food to the wide audience in Russia via popular U-channel of Russian TV by showcasing the well-known dishes, namely, mussaman nua (beef mussaman curry) and tom kha gai (galanga coconut soup with chicken), prepared by Mr. Trerachai Asarangchai, the Ambassador’s residence chief. Mr. Asarangchai also gave an interview about his work in Russia, as well as his experiences in cooking Thai dishes to Thai and Russian VIPs. Such episode on Thai food was broadcast in в-Теме programme on 21 July 2014 and can be viewed at http://u-tv.ru/projects/vteme/. In this opportunity, Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, observed the coverage and presented the filming crew with the publications of Thai-Russian relationships and Thai food cookbook.

          U-Channel is the Russian TV channel that’s equivalent to western MTV. в-Теме programme, on air on this Channel, shows the lifestyles, arts, cultures in Russia. The production is usually shot at various locations in the casual atmosphere, and targets new generation audience. The Promotion of Thai Food through U-Channel would much help to boost its popularity in Russia and beyond.
