On 1 August 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an evening function to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 82^nd Birthday Anniversary. The event was attended by members of diplomatic corps, international organizations, foreign chambers of commerce and distinguished guests from private and public sectors.

The highlight of the event was a special performance by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. The songs performed by the band are Her Majesty’s favorites which include royal compositions of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, hosted an exhibition called “Silk and Art Design,” displaying beautiful costumes in traditional Thai textiles by renowned Thai designers. The aim of the exhibition is to commemorate Her Majesty’s effort in supporting local fabric weaving industry and preserving traditional Thai textiles.
