On 28 July 2014, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, presided over the Conferment of the Royal Decoration of “First Class of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand” upon Mr. Sven Malmberg, former Minister of the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok and  “Second Class of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand” upon Mr. Håkan Nylander, former Counsellor of the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok. Mr. Sven Malmberg had served in Thailand during 2008 - 2012 and Mr. Håkan Nylander during 2008 – 2013. Both officials played important roles in promoting cordial relations and cooperation between Thailand and Sweden during their assignments. H.E. Ambassador of Thailand expressed his appreciation to both Swedish diplomats and wished that they would still promote the cordial relation between Thailand and Sweden.
