Thai Embassy in Argentina made merits for Buddhist Lent Day

         Thai Ambassador to Argentina together with officials and staffs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Argentina gave donations to Wat Luang Argentina on the Buddhist Lent Day to help the construction of the temple.

          On 12 July 2014, Mr. Medha Promthep, Thai Ambassador to Argentina, together with officials and staffs of the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Trade Office in Argentina participated in the merit making ceremony to celebrate the Buddhist Lent Day at Wat Luang Argentina in Chascomus. Ambassador Medha, on behalf of Embassy’s delegation, offered food and donations of more than 2,000 USD for the construction of the temple to Phra Mahapichai Thanuttaro, the temple’s abbot.

           Wat Luang Argentina is a Buddhist temple which is the residence of Dhammaduta (Buddhist missionary monks) from Thailand in Argentina. The temple is situated in Chascomus, a small town 130 km. from Buenos Aires City, serves as a center for Thai and Laos community to practice Buddhist dharma and perform religious activities, as well as to teach Buddhism to Argentine people.
