Asia-Pacific Leaders Convene to Boost Regional Connectivity for Shared Prosperity in the Region
The 70th Commission Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) under the theme, Regional Connectivity for Shared Prosperity will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 4 to 8 August 2014. The annual Session comprises two parts: the Senior Officials Segment from 4 to 6 August in preparation for the Ministerial Segment, to be held from 7 to 8 August.
ESCAP will also launch its flagship publication Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2014.
ESCAP has prepared a theme study as part of the report on Regional Connectivity for Shared Prosperity for this Session which proposes frameworks for supporting economic growth and development, particularly through the three dimensions of sustainable development; social, economic and environmental.
