The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing co-organized a Religious Merit-Making Ceremony at the Ambassador’s Residence

              On 1 July 2014, H.E. Mr. Wiboon Khusakul, Ambassador of Thailand to China, held a religious merit-making ceremony at the Ambassador’s residence, and invited officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand and their family members to attend. On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of the Board of Investment (BOI) invited Ajarn Tawatchai Thammatipo and Ajarn Surapoj Sutthatigo to lead the merit-making ceremony.  In addition, 1 July 2014 also marks the 39th Anniversary on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Re public of China.
 
               Following the traditional offering of food and alms by the Ambassador and embassy officials to the monks, Ajarn Tawatchai Thammatipo and Ajarn Surapoj Sutthatigo gave a lecture and a demonstration on practicing raising consciousness and also answered related questions from the audience. This is one of many activities co-organized by the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand aimed at improving quality of life and raising team spirit.
 
               Ajarn Tawatchai Thammatipo and Ajarn Surapoj Sutthatigo are siblings and reside at the Mind-Training Development Center at Baan Wang Muang, Thai-muang district, Phang-nga province. They are visiting Beijing between 28 June - 2 July 2014 to demonstrate Dharma practice-training while attending the “Healthy China-Buddhists Meditation Conference” at the Loong Palace Hotel and Resort. The event attracted over 1,000 Chinese business executives.
