During 7-9 July 2014, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in his capacity acting as Foreign Minister will attend the ministerial level meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at United Nations Headquarter, New York. He will also be meeting and holding bilateral talks with high level representatives from ECOSOC’s Member Countries to brief on the political developments in Thailand. In addition, on 7 July 2014, the Permanent Secretary will be chairing a seminar, which Thailand is organizing called, “Increasing the Role of Women in Post-Conflict Reconstruction, from Relief to Development”. The seminar aims to promote the role of women in peace and security and one of Thailand’s campaign to be selected as Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council during years 2017-2018.
