On 22 May 2014, H.E. Mr. Krit Kraichitti, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, together with his wife Mrs. Korbkiat Kraichitti, hosted a luncheon for Ambassadors and spouses from ASEAN+3 group of countries in Malaysia. Attending ambassadors were from Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, the Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Viet Nam. The Ambassador used this opportunity to explain to his guests the situation in Thailand, especially after the declaration of the Martial Law Act, and reassured them of the stability and safety of foreign nationals and tourists as well as their assets and investment in Thailand. Additionally, the Ambassador also discussed with his ASEAN+3 colleagues plan to strengthen regional cooperation in various areas, especially in the tourism sector. He proposed the idea of combining the strength of each ASEAN member state to establish ASEAN as a single tourist destination, with a view to attracting more tourists from other parts of the world, including but not limited to India, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
