Subject: Extension of period for the handover of firearms, ammunition

and explosives used specifically in war

            With regard to Order of the NCPO No. 37/2557 dated 29 May 2014 requesting the handover of firearms, ammunition or explosives used specifically in war and with regard to Announcement of the NCPO No. 53/2557 dated 3 June 2014 stipulating that offenders of certain offences are not bound by Orders of the NCPO No. 53/2557, for the purpose of ensuring the handover of firearms, ammunition and explosives used specifically in war to local officers according to the law, the NCPO hereby announces as follows:

            1. In accordance with the Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, Fireworks, and the Equivalent of Firearms Act and Order of the NCPO No. 37/2557 dated 29 May 2014, the period set for the handover of firearms, ammunition or explosives used during wartime to local officers shall be extended until 25 June 2014

            2. Individuals who hand over firearms, ammunition and explosives used during wartime to local officers within the abovementioned period are exempted from criminal prosecution as stipulated in the Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, Fireworks, and the Equivalent of Firearms Act.

            3. Failure to hand over firearms, ammunition and explosives used during wartime to local officers pursuant to clause 1, is punishable by 2-20 years imprisonment

            4. This announcement does not apply to offenders under the Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, Fireworks, and the Equivalent of Firearms Act, arrested, charged, or prosecuted before 29 May 2014, and whose investigation or case is still pending.

            This announcement shall take effect immediately.
