Subject: Prohibition of news reporting, dissemination and selling of publications
which undermine internal peace and order

With regards to the previously announced invocation of Martial Law throughout the Kingdom of Thailand, effective on 20 May 2014 at 03.00 hours onwards,
In order to prevent the false and distorted circulation of news and information to the general public, the impact of which can lead to misunderstanding and subsequent deepening of the conflict, and can adversely affect the maintaining of peace and order; thus, to ensure that information are circulated accurately, pursuant to Section 6 and Section 11 of the Martial Law Act B.E. 2457 (1914), news reporting as well as dissemination and selling of publications which undermine internal peace and order are prohibited as follows:
1. The reporting of news in documents, pictures, publications, broadcastings via satellite and cable television channels, radio broadcast stations, community radio stations, as well as distorted online news reports which could cause social division and unrest, or messages that may threaten or cause widespread fear among the citizens, the impact of which can affect the officials effort to maintain peace and order;
2. The distribution and sales of publications which present information and news that may affect the peace and order measure as per No. 1.
This order shall take effect immediately until further notice
