At 13.00 hrs., the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) informed the press on the outcome of the meeting of the CAPO earlier in the day, gist as follows:

1. The CAPO expressed its concerns over demonstrations of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) scheduled on 5 May. The CAPO urged leaders of both sides to not instigate their supporters to confront leading to the more deteriorated situation. The CAPO wished to encourage the public to avoid participating the demonstrations of all groups. Although it is the right of the public to participate in the demonstrations but once it violates the law, every offenders will be brought to justice without any exception.
The CAPO has received a report regarding the statement of Mr.Suthep Thaugsuban announced that on 14 May, the protesters will return the people's sovereignty by claiming that the government has no legitimacy while the PDRC will solely establish the cabinet and the legistrative body. The CAPO has been concerned that such announcement is an attempt to overthrow the democracy and could produce more conflicts in the society. The government already returned power to the people since the parliament was dissolved.

2. The CAPO has prioritized the new election scheduled on 20 July 2014 as it is considered an important development in order to bring back peace and order to the country. Today, the Director of the CAPO has issued a letter to the Chairman of the Election Commission (EC) to assign joint working committee consisted of members from the CAPO and the EC with duties to prepare for the election and to prevent any attempt to obstruct the election. The CAPO also invited representatives from the EC to participate in the meeting on 8 May 2014 at 14.00 hrs.

3. The CAPO has received a report that the PDRC has deployed personnels of several State Enterprises to sabotage some infrastructures in order to support the PDRC. As a result, the Director of the CAPO has issued a letter to executives of the concerned State Enterprises instructing them to prevent the said operation. State Enterprises are required to prepare the operational plans and to submit them to the CAPO by 12 May. Executives of the State Enterprises will have to take responsibility in case their personnels are found participating in the operation.
