The Royal Thai Embassy welcomed and coordinated for the visit of the business delegation from Thailand consisting of representatives of Thai companies and the representatives from the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand (JSCCIB-THAILAND), who visited Peru as part of the project to explore business and investment opportunites organized by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand during 23– 26 March 2014.

Led by DDG Rattikul Chansuriya of the Department of the Economic Affairs and with collaboration of the JSCCIB-THAILAND, the Thai business delegation participated in the official programme including the meetings with the Peruvian trade and investment promotion related agencies such as the Economic Promotion and Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of External Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Toursim of Peru, the briefing on the business and investment opportunities in Peru arranged by public and private institutions (Proinversion and Ernest & Young), the discussion about rules, regulations and procedures the import and export of agricultural products from and to Peru with the Director of Plan Health of SENASA Peru , the visit to explore the facilities and the administration of ARM Terminal at the Port of Callao as well as the visit to a leading supermarket of Peru and the business matching at the Lima Chamber of Commerce.

During the visit , Mr. Arin Jira, the Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries on behalf of the Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand (JSCCIB-THAILAND) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 2 Peruvian business institutions namely COMEX Peru and CONFIEP. The MoU will be a crucial tool to enhance cooperation on the matters of trade and investment between JSCCIB and the 2 Peruvian institutions.

Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond, Ambassador of Thailand to Lima led the delegation to call on the counterpart at Ministry of External Relations of Peru and participated the signing ceremony of the mentioned MoU and hosted a dinner in honor of the Thai delegation on the 24 of March 2014 at the residence.
