During 21 -22 March 2014, Mr. Chanchai Jiamboonsri, Consul-General of Thailand to the Republic of Madagascar and his staff went to Ilakaka, situated in the south west of the Republic of Madagascar in order to organize the oversea Senate elections for the 40 Thai Citizens in Ilakaka.
Moreover, the Consul – General took this opportunity to offer 23 boxes of medicines for the Thai – Mada Hospital and three motor cycles to the “Gendarmerie” of Ilakaka in order to fight against insecurity and to protect the Thai citizens in Ilakaka. Col. Reribake J., Governor of Ihorombe presided over the ceremony of the remittance. Among the cooperation projects indicated by Col Reribake are the development of drinkable water, reinforcement of fight against environment degradation and the establishment of specialized training center in crystalizing precious stones in Ilakaka
