Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan attended an International Conference on the Role of Islam and Buddhism in Promoting World Peace and Harmony

     On 3 March 2014, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, participated in the international conference on the Role of Islam and Buddhism in Promoting World Peace and Harmony organized by the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and the Society of Civilizations Pakistan. The Meeting was attended by academics and scholars from prestigious Universities and Institutions in Pakistan, Republic of Korea, and Thailand.  Ambassador chaired a session “Global Peace: Islamic and Buddhist Worldviews”. He opined that this meeting was of great benefit since it provided an opportunity to Buddhist and Islamic scholars to meet and exchange views on Islam and Buddhism leading to the promotion of understanding between the two religions. Both Buddhist and Islamic teachings attach an emphasis on creating peace in society. The academics from Thailand were Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, M.D., President of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth and Ms. Petcharat Lovichakorntikul, International Relations Mission, Dhammakaya Foundation. They also gave a presentation on the Contemporary Basic Morals in Sharing and Working together for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
