On 14 February 2014, which was corresponding to the Makha Bucha Day, the Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai, together with the Thai Women’s Club in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and the Dubai Meditation Center, organized activities to observe the Makha Bucha Day at the Royal Thai Consulate General, Dubai.

Two Monks from the Dubai Meditation Center were invited to the Royal Thai Consulate General to lead prayers and meditation, preach Buddha’s teachings, and perform the candle ceremony, where the monks led all participating Buddhists to walk clockwise three times around the Buddha’s relics.

There were approximately 70 participants to the ceremony, including the Consul – General, staffs of the Royal Thai Consulate General, Thai community and Buddhists from different countries living in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
