     On 5th December 2013, HE Mr Pasan Teparak, the Ambassador, presides over the Conferment Ceremony of the Royal Decoration, the Fifth Class of the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn, upon Mr. Martin Seeger, Senior Lecturer in Thai Language and Culture at the University of Leeds in recognition of his work and dedication to promote the understanding of Thailand as well as the appreciation of Thai language and culture in the United Kingdom.    
     Dr. Martin Seeger is a founder of the Thai Studies course at the University of Leeds, which has been running since 2004, and offering teachings in various aspects of Thailand, including Thai language, culture and history as well as Buddhism. His constant dedication in promoting the understanding and appreciation of Thailand to the wider audience, not exclusively in the United Kingdom, is highly commended and much appreciated.
