His Excellency Mr. Ollanta Humala Tasso, President of the Republic of Peru, will pay an Official Visit to Thailand as Guest of the Royal Thai Government from 4 - 5 October 2013.  The President of Peru’s visit to Thailand will take place before his attending the 21st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.

This will be the fourth Official Visit of a President of the Republic of Peru to Thailand since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1965, reflecting the close and cordial ties enjoyed by the two countries, as well as demonstrating Thailand being Peru’s important partner in Southeast Asia.  It is also a reflection of the growing links between Latin America and Thailand, a development to which Thailand attaches importance, and to the interdependence between both sides of the Pacific which is fundamental to APEC’s future.

During the visit, President Humala Tasso will be granted an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, hold a bilateral discussion with the Thai Prime Minister, and meet with the President of the National Assembly as well as with representatives of the Thai private sector and academia. This visit will mark another important chapter in the history of Thai-Peruvian relations.
