On 23 September 2013, Mr.Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented Thailand at the Foreign Policy and Global Health (FPGH) Ministerial Breakfast Meeting at the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York. The meeting, chaired by Mr. Marty Natalegawa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, was attended by Foreign Ministers from Brazil, France, Norway, Senegal, and South Africa.
Permanent Secretary Sihasak reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to working with the FPGH to promote global awareness on the linkage between health and foreign policies.  He reiterated the need to maintain health as a priority issue in the post-2015 Development Agenda, pointing out that global health partnership must be based on each country’s national priorities and policies to create a sense of national ownership, and should be oriented towards providing comprehensive health services.  He also encouraged members of the FPGH to work closely with regional organizations on health issues as Indonesia and Thailand do within ASEAN.
