On August 19, 2013 H.E. Lt. Cdr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation discussed with of a delegation from the Ministry of Energy of Thailand led by Mrs. Poonsub Sakunee on an issue to further strengthen the Thai - Russian Cooperation on energy during the dinner hosted in honour of the delegation at the Residence.

The Thai Ambassador to the Russian Federation was informed that the delegation received the good cooperation by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation with a positive outcome on the negotiation for the drafting of the Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Cooperation between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Russian Federation.

The Thai Ambassador also took note by the delegation that it seems necessary for Thailand to continue increasing the importation of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia due to the higher tendency of Thailand’s energy demand. With the Russian world largest reserves of natural gas, such constructive framework of the bilateral cooperation as mentioned above would help reaffirm of Thailand’s energy security.
