Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Deputy Director General, Department of Information and delegation including the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon visited relevant authorities and organizations in the area of media and cultural relations in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon from 30 July – 2 August 2013. 

     The delegation met with high level officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Information of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw and had an informative meeting about the current situation of the media development in Myanmar and future cooperation between both countries especially in the area of media production, technology and human resource development. 

     In Yangon, the delegation met with the Myanmar Motion Picture Enterprise and the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, which both will support the upcoming Thai Film Festival in Myanmar. Both organizations are planning to organize the Myanmar Film Festival in Thailand in the near future. As for the area of broadcasting, the meeting with Sky Net built up several proposals for Thai TV channels and programs to be broadcasted on Sky Net. During the meeting with Myanmar Times, the delegation learnt about the development of publishing media including the access to information in Myanmar from the past to present.
