On Thursday 8 August 2013 at 9 a.m., Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the opening ceremony of “ASEAN Day”, an event to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN, at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Ayudhya Rd.

The event, organized by the Ministry’s Department of ASEAN Affairs, will feature several activities to raise ASEAN awareness during the day, including an ‘ASEAN Quiz’, an ASEAN exhibition and the display of the winning works from the ASEAN Drawing competition 2013 under the theme “Our People, Our Future Together”.

From 2 – 4:30 p.m., the Ministry  will organize a seminar titled “ASEAN Community: One vision, multiculturalism, and how can we live together?” co-hosted by the Department of ASEAN Affairs and the ASEAN Association-Thailand. Participants will include Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the Board of Directors, MFC Asset Management Public Company Limited; Assistant Professor Dr. Kitti Prasirtsuk, Director of the Institute of East Asian Studies, and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University; and Mr. Chib Jitniyom, ThaiTV3 news presenter and Asia Connect Producer.
