On 29 July 2013, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Narcotics Board Control (ONBC), the Ministry of Education and the Asia-Pacific Non-Government Organization on Drug and Substance Abuse Prevention (ASPAC-NGO) co-organized a workshop for the presentation of project ideas as part of the Thai Youth Initiative against Drugs 2013 project at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The workshop was chaired by Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and attended by representatives from partner agencies as well as the 5 finalist youth teams and advisors of the project.
At the workshop, the finalist teams from over 100 secondary schools nationwide presented their anti-drugs project ideas on the topic “How Can We as Youth Stay Away from Drugs?” to the Project committee, which comprised representatives of the agencies concerned. The workshop aimed to empower the final 5 teams of youth participants by offering useful suggestions and comments as well as granting a budget of 10,000 Baht for each team to implement their project ideas.
Prizes for the team with the most practical and creative project include a short study trip abroad to experience anti-drugs programs for youth being implemented in a foreign country September this year.
