On 2 August 2013, Thailand, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations, will host a High-Level Forum on 10th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul will preside over the opening ceremony and deliver opening remarks, together with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

This High-Level Forum, organized by Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is part of the commemorative activities to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership. The Strategic Partnership was established in 2003 to foster friendly and cordial relations and cooperation between ASEAN and China, as well as promoting peace and stability in the region. The Forum will serve as a venue for high-level representatives from government and academia from the two sides to assess past achievements, and exchange views on strengthening the Strategic Partnership to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region. 

Guest speakers include Mr. Wang Yingfan, Ambassador and Special Envoy on Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. George Yeo, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
