On 14 June 2013, Mr.Thana Duangratana, Vice Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, hosted a luncheon in honour of Ms. Anissa Barrak, representative of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) to Asia and Pacific, who was visiting Thailand during 11-15 June 2013.

The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the OIF and Thailand, and enhancing Thailand’s active role and constructive engagement as an observer to the OIF.  Examples of such cooperation would be (1) the promotion of French language studies both at secondary and college levels; (2) the participation of Thai athletes in the Francophone Games and; (3) workshops in French for Thai and Indo-China diplomats to enhance diplomatic negotiation and translation skills.

Ms. Anissa Barrak was granted a Royal audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.  She also called on Mr. Pongthep Thepkanchana, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, and Dr. Suwat Sidthilaw, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
