On 20 – 22 March 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized the Thai Film Festival 2013 at Nepal Tourism Board. It was the 3rd Thai Film Festival in Nepal after it was successfully held in 2008 and 2011. The main purpose of organizing the Thai Film Festival is to promote cultural awareness and reveal a fascinating facet of modern Thai culture as well as to depict various aspects of Thai society.
The inauguration ceremony of the Thai Film Festival took place on 20 March 2013, beginning with the reception followed by welcome address by H.E. Mrs. Kanthong Unakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal. After that came the screening of the film “The Overture” on 20 March 2013. The festival was open for public viewing during 21 – 22 March 2013. Seven films were screened during the festival as follows: (1) The Overture (2) Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story (3) Ladda Land (4) Hello Stranger (5) Best of Times (6) Phobia 2 and (7) First Love (A Little Thing Called Love) which were well-received by the audience.
