On 8 March 2013, Dr. ChaiyongSatjipanon, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States of America, chaired a seminar on “Expanding Thai Studies in the United States” at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. The seminar, attended by professors from universities in the Central and East Coast of the United States, which offer courses in Thai, Southeast Asian or Asian studies, was organized as a forum to exchange views, experiences and suggestions on how to promote and support Thai Studies programs within the context of Southeast Asian Studies and Asian Studies.
