58th Thai Cooking Demonstration at the Thai Residence

On 28 February 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy organized the 58th Thai Cooking Demonstration at the Thai Residence in Santiago. At this session, Ms. Lamyai Ang-kab, chef of the Thai residence demonstrated the preparation of three authentic Thai dishes; namely, Spicy Fruit Salad (Som Tam Ponlamai), Fried Chicken with Thai Herb (Gai Tod Samun Prai), and Water Chestnut in Coconut Milk (Tub Tim Grob).

The ingredients used in each dish are originally Thai and available in Asian stores and supermarkets in Chile. These products as well as mobile exhibition on Thai culture and tourism were displayed in the activity area.

101 participants, including diplomats and their families, chefs, restaurant owners, housewives, students and media as well as interested public attended the activity. They enjoyed the samples of the authentic Thai dishes and received some souvenirs which included “Mi Diario de Cocina Tailandesa” - a cookbook published by the Embassy.
