On 15 -16 January 2013, Mr. Berdiniyaz Myatiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, together with Mr. Batyr Yusubov, Director-General of Department of Asia-Pacific Region paid an official visit to Thailand.  This visit to Thailand of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan is the reciprocal of the visit to Turkmenistan made by H.E. Mr. Jullapong Nonsrichai, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, in September 2012 to celebrate 20th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Turkmenistan.

                       Mr. Nonsrichai, the Vice Minister, held bilateral meeting with Mr. Myatiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, on 15 January 2013 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to further strengthen the relations in the fields of energy, trade, investment, tourism, sports and culture between the two countries.  This visit will also pave the way for the visit to Thailand of the President of Turkmenistan in the second half of 2013. Mr. Myatiyev had also held discussions with the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Executive Vice President of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited.
