Joint Cooperation between Thai and Brazilian Police to tackle the Drugs Smuggling from Brazil to Thailand

On  14  January 2013,  Mr. Vithit Powattanasuk , Minister Counsellor  and Mr. Juckarin Charoenphuk, Second Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy, Brasilia  met with  Mr. Marcos Aurelio Pereira de Moura  , Coordenador Geral de Defesa Institucional e Diretor de Investigacao e Combate ao Crime Organizado em exercici  at the Federal Police Headquarters  to seek more cooperation on prevention and suppression on transnational drugs smuggling between from Brazil to Thailand.  Minister  Counsellor  raised  concerns on the  nowaday’s rising number of Thai women involving in the drugs smuggling in Brazil and proposed to have immediate cooperation with Brazilian police to enhance  efficiency of prevention and suppression from both sides.

                       

Currently, the two countries reach the agreement for their police officials  to share the criminal intelligence  under  the “Hot Line” scheme  so as to enhance the joint prompt action on the drugs smuggling problem
