On 26 October 2011, Mr. Lim Jae-hong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his condolences to the Government and people of Thailand regarding the current flood situation in Thailand and reiterated the ROK Governments readiness to exchange the experiences on water management with Thailand. On behalf of the Government and the people of Thailand, the Foreign Minister expressed appreciation to the ROK Government for donating 200,000 US dollars to the Thai Red Cross Society and other relief items, including 100,000 sandbags, mobile water purification unit, instant noodles and drinking water. The said contribution will help contribute to Thailands ongoing efforts to provide assistance and emergency relief to flood victims in affected areas.
