On 9-10 August 2009, Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a mission of ambassadors and diplomats from the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries on a visit to Thailands southern border provinces. The study trip, similar to one arranged for European diplomats in May 2009, offered the diplomats a comprehensive picture of the latest developments and situation in the southern border provinces.
