30 May 2008, Ms. Yaowares Shinawatra, President of the National Council of Women of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, led the committee members of the Council to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Noppadon Pattama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at Buakaew Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On this occasion, Ms. Yaowares presented Foreign Minister Noppadon a financial contribution in the amount of 100,000 Baht for those affected by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and another 100,000 Baht for those affected by the earthquake in Sichuan Province.
