On 6 September 2005, Dr. Kantathi Suphamongkhon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed a book of condolences at the Embassy of the United States of America in Bangkok expressing his deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family of those who lost their lives as well as those who have been injured by the hurricane Katrina, which struck Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana of the United States on 29 August 2005.
