On 24 - 25 May 2023, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attended the 29th ASEAN-China Senior Officials’ Consultation (ACSOC) in Shenzhen, China.

The Permanent Secretary expressed its commitment to working with China and other ASEAN Member States in further enhancing ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations through the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Thailand also emphasised deepening ASEAN-China cooperation on poverty eradication, food security, smart agriculture, and sustainable development as 2023 is designated as the ASEAN-China Year of Agricultural Development and Food Security Cooperation.

The Permanent Secretary also had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Nong Rong, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, the Co-chair of the ACSOC, during which both sides discussed ways to strengthen Thailand-China relations, including the convening of the 6th Thailand-China Strategic Dialogue in the second half of 2023.
