On 3 September 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, had a videoconference meeting with H.E. Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

As Strengthened Strategic Partners, the two sides took note of the importance of close coordination and regular consultation between two countries. They discussed ways and means to further expand cooperation in all dimensions, particularly in promoting economic ties, trade and investment as well as maintaining supply chain as solutions to overcome the adverse impacts of COVID-19 and speed up the recovery efforts.

The Thai side commended Viet Nam for her role as the Chair of ASEAN during this challenging year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed full support for Viet Nam throughout the remaining of her chairmanship in 2020.
