To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 88th Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on 12 August 2020 and inspired by the Royal Initiative Volunteer Projects, the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., collaborated with the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Park Trust in organizing volunteer activities to help with the maintenance of the park. In this connection, Ambassador Thani Thongphakdi lead members of Team Thailand (Offices of Army, Navy, Air Force, Commerce, Finance, Agriculture, Education, Science and Innovation) to help collect refuse left behind by visitors and paint picnic tables at Fletcher’s Cove in Washington, D.C.
