On 15 July 2020, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand held discussions with H.E. Mrs. Vijay Thakur Singh, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs of India at the Co-Chairs’ Meeting via videoconference in preparation for the 22nd ASEAN-India Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and discussed bilateral cooperation, as well as cooperation in the various sub-regional frameworks in the Mekong. 
 
This preparatory meeting  between the Thai and Indian Co-chairs was held ahead of the 22nd ASEAN-India SOM that will take place on 16 July 2020 via videoconference. Both sides discussed approaches in driving forward the ASEAN-India Strategic Partnership, as well as Thai-Indian bilateral cooperation, which includes cooperation on research and development for medicines and vaccines for COVID-19, economic cooperation to advance trade and investment between both sides as well as cooperation in the various sub-regional frameworks in the Mekong, such as the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) and Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC).  Thailand is currently serving in its capacity as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
